Speech-Language Therapy

Individualized treatment plans developed based on the results of comprehensive assessment and tailored to individual's area(s) of need and learning style/ strength. Each session is 60 or 45 minutes in duration with a portion at the end of the allotted time to discuss what was worked on and what needs to be practiced at home.

Myofunctional Therapy

Individualized treatment session based on the results of a comprehensive orofacial assessment. Therapy sessions focus on breathing re-education to maximize nasal breathing, retraining oral facial muscles to support correct rest posture, swallow pattern, and speech production. Therapy is conducted by a board certified myofunctional therapist. Each session is 40-45 minutes in duration. Most patients require anywhere from 8 to 16 treatment sessions.

Breena is the owner of Breena Hayman, Inc and specializes in myofunctional therapy and speech and language therapy for children, adolescents and adults. She is a Licensed Speech Language-Pathologist with the state of CA, 1999.​​ She received her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from University of Redlands, CA. She has over 25 years’ experience in San Diego County in a variety of settings including Rady’s Children’s Hospital, Poway School District, San Diego City Schools, and Private Practice. ​Breena is trained in Talk Tools, Prompt Therapy, and The Kaufman Method to treat children with apraxia and other motor speech planning impairments. Breena utilizes a variety of approaches to treat children with Autism and related disorders including PECS, TEACCH, SCERTS, DIR/Floortime, Social Stories, Visuals, and a variety of sensory based techniques. Breena is a board Certified Myofunctional Therapist for the treatment of oral and facial muscles as they relate to speech, dentition, chewing, swallowing and physical health.
